Japanese Sensibilities

In 2024 and 2025 I was fortunate to study with George Nobechi (@nobechicreative) in Tokyo, along with Ibarionex Perello and the 2nd time with George at Blenheim Park in Maine. Both workshops introduced me to several Japanese artistic concepts with applications to photography. Under George’s guidance, I began what I hope will be a life-long exploration of “Borrowed” Landscapes, Koh-ltten (Red, One Spot) Mono-no-Aware (The Pathos of Things), Ma (Space), Mujo (Impermanence), Seijaku (Stillness) and Wabi Sabi.
